Thanks to everyone for making 2017 a great season! Our two-year transformation from machine pitch to kid pitch will be completed in 2018. Here are the details of the changes:

Little League (Boys and Girls)

------------------------------------------

- Kids will pitch the entire game, no coach pitching

- Open home plate: runners can score on wild pitches, etc.

- No overthrow limits. Runners can advance until the ball returns to the pitcher in the pitching circle.

- Use of a 12 inch softball to match Williamsburg and 12U rules

- Pitching distance will be 40 feet in softball, to match 12U rules

- Pitching distance will remain at 46 feet for boys

- Bunting and slapping will be allowed.

Junior Leagues (Boys and girls)

------------------------------------------

- Kids will pitch, using the coach pitch rule that was used in 2017 for LL

- Closed home plate. Can only advance to home on a hit ball, walk, Hit-by-pitch, etc.

- Pitching distance will be 35 feet (girls) and 40 feet for boys

- Use of an 11 inch softball to match 10U rules.

- Girls JR will now have catchers.

We will continue to search for options for pitching and catching clinics. Please let us know of any opportunities.

More information will be posted before next season. Please contact us with any questions about the new pitching rules.

Thank you,

CCAYLL committee
